Position Description
Podiatric medicine (www.apma.org) specializes in the prevention, treatment and diagnosis of diseases and disorders of the foot and ankle. As a podiatrist, you would provide services as: lower extremity examinations, surgical procedures on the foot/ankle, flexible immobilizations or castings, provide mechanical devices for correctional walking, and medical treatments for foot problems.
Education and Training
Your training will include four (4) years of podiatric pre-doctoral education with clinical training. A student who completes the four years of medical training will receive a D.P.M. - Doctor of Podiatric Medicine.
