Newsletters & Blogs
Staying connected with The Career Center is an important means of helping our students obtain current information. We publish one newsletter and one blog that are written by our career counselors. These newsletters provide a variety of campus and Career Center resources, information about programs and visitors to campus; issues of interest; and encouragement during the tough times. Students are highly encouraged to sign up for the various newsletters.
- Freshman Press
- Addresses the concerns of freshman students and parents and provides information pertinent to the issues of a new face on campus- what to do, where to go, what to consider. The Press is published nine times a semester.
- Health Careers Chronicle
-
The Career Center’s new blog Health Careers Chronicle publishes news of events, opportunities, programs of study, and much more crucial information for UI students planning to apply to health programs (medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, etc.) Edited by pre-health counselor Karen Paulsen, the Chronicle is the blog where she shares her expertise and insider know-how with students. Required reading for anyone interested in pursing a health career. Sign up now and have news sent directly to your email.
2007 is the year that the Health Careers Weekly Newsletter (the weekly email sent by Karen) turns into this improved blog format, the Health Careers Chronicle. Now all the news is archived and categorized, so you can easily find past items of interest. Already subscribe to the Health Careers Weekly Newsletter? You will need to re-subscribe to the Chronicle to have news emailed to you.
Students are also encouraged to visit their respective college websites, to learn if their program of study or department publishes a newsletter.
