Externship
The Illini Externship Program offers an opportunity to bring professionals (University of Illinois Alums) and college students (freshman-junior) together in the workplace.
The goal of an externship is to give students insight and experience in their field of interest and to offer sponsors a chance to guide future professionals through a job-shadowing experience.Externships are available in a broad range of fields, included but not limited to business, medicine, law, communications, government, education and social services.
An externship generally lasts three to five days during the University’s spring break. Interested students are required to attend one of two orientations that are held in September. At these orientations, you will learn about the application process (application, résumé, two short essays), deadlines and interview needed to be accepted into the program.
When the dates for orientations are set they will be posted here and on the calendar. Questions about internships are handled by Greg Hatch, email ghatch1(at)uiuc(dot)edu
