Build Professional Skills to Guarantee Career Success
A potential employer will be looking for more than just good grades. The strongest candidates for any position will be those with a broad range of experience, including volunteer work, full or part-time employment, internships, RSOs, or any of the other programs listed below.
Find and Land an Internship
Internship searches are well worth the effort, write your résumés and cover letters and start applying.
Job Shadow
The Illini Externship Program offers an opportunity to bring professionals (University of Illinois Alums) and college students (freshman - junior) together.
Work as an Outreach Presenter
The Presentations by Request program, where trained students present workshops and conduct résumé reviews, hires new presenters on a yearly basis.
Graduate School Program Information and Application Assistance
Check out different programs, use our online letters of recommendation service, and decide if Graduate School is right for you.
Participate in On-Campus Recruiting
Post your résumé, search for full time jobsor internships, learn aboutemployer information sessions, and apply for on-campus interviews. The Career Center encourages students to also register with your college or departmental career office, when applicable.

Pre-Health Students at Illinois
The Career Center staff refer to students interested in medical careers as being 'Pre-Health'. Talk to a Pre-Health advisor for guidance on classes and about your application to health schools.
